Our Farewell Picnic

Today we had a picnic at the park with lots of our friends from school and playschool! We played and had lots of fun together. Lots of people have now signed our autograph book and we have lots of addresses and emails for all our pen pals! Thanks for coming all of you! It was fun! We will miss you all lots, but are looking forward to writing to you!  The Swahili word today is ndugu!

Amisadai's friends now and new!

Today we packed a big box full of school books and things! I have one more week of school left here. And then I will finish Year 1 with Mrs Hawthorne at Aldermaston Primary School. I will miss all my friends. When we get to Tanzania I will start Year 2 with Mummy and Louisa (who will do Reception). I have just seen a photo of some children that I may get to know in Isanga which is a village near Iringa where we will live. This is is place high up in the highlands where we are going to help people get water. Angela (in the picture with the children) went to visit them. We might get to stay with Angela and Andy when we get to Tanzania!

My swahili word is maji. See what it means on the Swahili page!

Louisa's Needles and Cakes

Today, I was very brave, and had my meningitis vaccination with no tears at all! Only two more needles to go now (and that's not until the end of August!) I was also weighed to see what I need to have to stop me getting malaria. I need half a tablet every week.

Also, next week (on Monday, 11:30-2:30), I am doing a cake sale fundraiser at my playschool, Tadley-Under-Fives (at Tadley Community Centre)! People can come to buy cakes and also the Recipe Books from Amisadai's school. You get a free cake if you buy a recipe book!

My Swahili word is mwuguzi! Find out what it means on the Swahili page!

Chickens!

We are excited about getting chickens when we are in Tanzania! For our birthday our friends have "given" us chickens which we will hopefully get when we have a house! Every friend who gave us a chicken named it for us. Here are their names!

Amisadai's Chickens
Happy (Alice)
Chicken Licken (Jessica P)
Rosie (Emily H.)
Hollie (Hollie A.)
Mia (Mia)
We can't find Amy Miles's chicken ... can you remember, Amy?

Louisa's Chickens
Chuckles (Megan)
Minnie (Rebecca)
Chickle-Millie (Christopher)
Mary (Emily)
R2-D2 (Sebastien)

Thanks, everyone! That's a lot of chickens!! We'll see if we can get this many! And we'll make sure you get to see a photo of them!

Louisa would like to say she would like a goat as well! (Mum is not so sure!)

Thank you everyone who has signed up to our blog! It is really fun!

We thought we would add a new Swahili word with every post ... today's word is kuku. Find out what it means on our Swahili page!
