Going on Safari by Amisadai

On Thursday I went with Grandma and Grandad, Mummy, Daddy and Louisa to Ruaha National Park. We stayed at River Lodge. We saw loads of animals! The animals we saw on Thursday were: warthogs, gazelles, elephants, kudu (like deer), crocodiles, lots of hippos, giraffes and hyrax.

But on Friday it was more exciting! Here is a list of animals we saw on Friday: crocodiles, warthogs, gazelles, elephants (lots of baby ones too), giraffes, hyraxes, kudus, hippos, zebras, ostriches, impalas, ground horned bill bird, baboons, lizards, dikdiks and a jackal.

The most important thing was ... we saw LIONS!!!!! It was very exciting! We saw nine lions. There were six, then we saw there were seven, one behind a rock. But then another lion came along. It was about five minutes later another lion came! One lion came back and stopped in the middle, under the bridge we were on. Then two lions met each other in the middle. One of them went to the pride of lions and the other lion went right under us for some water. There was no river, it was just a dry river bed.
The other exciting thing was that in the middle of the night, we got up and went on our deck outside our banda and saw the hippos right there! They are VERY big and they make a loud noise. We were very quiet watching them. In the morning we saw all their footprints and poo! There were also leopard tracks, but we didn't see a leopard or a cheetah. We had a very fun time.
